OK guys I thought it might be easiest to just put this information in one place to see if we can get a more coherent result

Idea

Drive from Howth to Achill and back to Howth stopping in every county we pass through for Tea, Toast and a one song gig from a band.

When

Good Friday 2012

Why

To try raise money for Down Syndrome Ireland.

Is there a time limit

Yes it works two ways, if we do it in less than 12 hours. Phil and Cuffe must do multiple forfeits to be revealed soon
If it takes more than 12 hours, Chuck (one of three members of this team) has to do multiple forfeits to be revealed soon

Transport

Phil and Cuffe will be in car, Chuck on Motorbike

Route

——-> OUT: Howth->Dunboyne->Maynooth->Mullingar->Longford Town->Stroketown->Castlebar->Achill
——-> IN: Castlerea->Roscommon Town->Athlone->Tullmore->Portlaoise->Newbridge->Howth

If you know any bands or are in a band on this route and want to be involved you can contact admin@goldenplec.com to let us know.

The idea will be that we will have a rough time and location in particular town on the day, could be early or late depending on when we roll through and you would be there to play a one song gig. We will record the video and share it through Twitter and Facebook and hopefully have a captive audience to hear you play.

Current Offers

Longford Town: Patrick Conboy (Twitter) to assist finding a band there

Howth (Twitter cathalmelinn)
Tullamore / Portlaoise (Gaz Le Rock on Twitter)
Maynooth – She’s a beauty (offer on the Facebook GP page) / (Susie Soho twitter)
Newbridge (Susie Soho tentative offer)
Mullingar – Paul Dowd assisting find a band there.
Castlebar – Struck – Suggestion from their Friend - management@struckofficial.com
Dunboyne – Aisling McWeeney checking availability of a band
Athlone – The Rusty Fixtures offered on Facebook

Company Sponsorship
If your company would like to sponsor us to use specific technology on the trip please get in contact
Currently we are talking to a phone provider about using their phone to record the gigs
We probably could do with a reliable USB dongle
Tea and Toast on the day at points of arrival would be welcomed though we will bring our own
Other suggestions are welcome or if you just wish to sponsor some money and be mentioned get in touch.

Here is the concept. Click to read more

Start in Howth, drive to achill and back to Howth. Must be done in 12 hours.
Distance total is looking around the 630km mark
We must stop in each county we pass by and have Tea and Toast.
At these Tea and Toast points we will try have a band waiting for us to play a one song gig.
If total time is more than 12 hours, Chuck must do a series of forfeits
If total time is less than 12 hours, Cuffe and Phil must do a series of forfeits.
Video and Picture updates will be pushed out throughout the day via Twitter and Facebook.
Twitter and Facebook accounts (www.facebook.com/teaandtoastgp – www.twitter.com/teaandtoastgp)
Money collection will be done via Mycharity.ie

I’ve booked in for the start of March, heading out the Friday night and flying back the Monday morning.
