The All Star Wars at The Olympia Theatre
Another opening night event, it was a privilege to get the opportunity to see what has been described to me as I Keano for Hurling heads. Well I’m not exactly a big hurling head but I know enough to get by and certainly enough to enjoy some of the more subtle jokes in the show.
It’s written by comedy duo Bryan Flynn and Kevin McCormack and is in Dublin for a week only so you don’t have much time to go check it out. What I can say without ruining it is that I sat through the first half, found the part with the TV panel to be the funniest but wasn’t overly blown away. However the second half of the show built upon everything the first half had put in place and was a phenomenal finish.
And any red blooded man wouldn’t think twice about coaching that camogie team. Holy schmokes, sure just look left at the thumbnail to see these girls are nothing to be messed with, hurls in hand.
Totally enjoyable show, you will be laughing right to the end and a big shout out goes to the actor playing Davey Fitz who played his role amazingly and deserved the biggest cheer of the night that he received humbly. A quality show, well worth the money.
Human Body Exhibition at The Ambassador Theatre
Well I was one of the few who got a look at the Human Body exhibition before it opened to the public which was great. It’s always nice to be one of the few given the first peek of something and having not caught it when it was here first time I was delighted to take a wee look. More…

Heading to Manchester
Yes today I booked flights and accommodation to head over and see my good pal Kev Meagher who has permanently relocated to Manchester.
I’ve booked in for the start of March, heading out the Friday night and flying back the Monday morning. The hope is to catch a Man City game as they play Bolton at home that Saturday and on the Sunday head to the Deaf institute to catch Swords friends, Cast of Cheers embark on their UK tour.
Stop SOPA – Goldenplec goes dark in protest
We took Goldenplec dark today in support of the ANTI-Sopa protest which most notably you may have noticed that the institution that is Wikipedia went dark as did thousands of sites online.
In Ireland just Goldenplec and Broadsheet.ie went dark which was disappointing but perhaps as this rolls on maybe more will join future protests.
My darts challenge 2012: Hit 365 180s in 2012
Ok so here is my challenge to myself to keep myself tipping along and practising regularly for I feel in 2011 I didn’t really practice as much as I should have.
The idea is to start clean today on January 1st and try hit one every day if I can. I have hit my one for today so I’m quite happy about this start, lets see if I can keep it going.
2012. A brave new world
Well here we are 2012. I decided to bring back my personal blog for 2012 and try chronical the year I had in 2011 here in this first post and then I will continue to cover my year in 2012 via the blog with pics of things I’m up to or gig’s I’m at or stuff I just enjoyed.
It won’t be essential reading. Nothing I ever write is.
Just a little look back at the gigs I can remember attending last year. ….. More…
